After a successful year in which she faced down alien beasts and inherited the mantle of Mary Poppins, Emily Blunt has been on the lookout for new film roles. She's now in talks to star in memoir adaptation Not Fade Away.
Lindsey Ferrentino is writing the screenplay for the film, which draws from Rebecca Alexander's 2015 book Not Fade Away: A Memoir Of Senses Lost And Found. It traces how she was born with a rare genetic mutation which caused her to her sight and hearing over time, and what she did to beat the odds and expectations of her prognosis.
American Hustle's David O. Russell is on board to produce alongside some joker that Blunt appears to know called John Krasinski. Despite their respective success directing, it appears neither is calling the shots on this one, in the latter case likely because Krasinski is already preparing to work on the sequel to A Quiet Place with Blunt back starring.
The horror sequel should be with us on 15 May next year and Blunt will also be seen in Jungle Cruise, which is currently set to dock a couple of months later on 24 July 2020.
