Seemingly locked in competition to see who can have the busiest work diary, Rachel Weisz and Emily Blunt have apparently decided to compromise and work on a film together. They’ve both signed on to indie director Lynn Shelton’s latest, untitled, partly improvised film, which will see them starring as sisters.
And Shelton, who won buzz and applause for her bromantic comedy Humpday, has recruited one of the stars of that film, Mark Duplass, who is something of an indie film guru himself, who most recently co-directed Cyrus, to play the man who comes between the two siblings.
So just how were the two busy bee actresses able to squeeze it into their packed schedules? Thanks to Shelton’s shooting style, the film, which is almost ready to shoot in Seattle, will take just two weeks out of their lives.
Weisz has been shooting a small role on Terence Malick’s next film (also without a title) and after working with Shelton, she’ll head off to make Terence Davies’ The Deep Blue Sea. Blunt, meanwhile, has Lasse Hallstrom’s Salmon Fishing in the Yemen to finish, and will then move on to Rian Johnson’s Looper.
