Phillip Noyce has been developing the idea for Above Suspicion for a few years now, but the pieces are finally falling into place as he's secured Game Of Thrones' Emilia Clarke and Pride And Prejudice And Zombies' Jack Huston for the lead roles.

Mississippi Burning's Chris Gerolmo has written the script, which adapts New York Times columnist Joe Sharkey's eponymous book. Above Suspicion charts the true story of a freshly wed young FBI agent posted to an Appalachian mountain town in Kentucky. Looking into a big case, he strikes up a contact with an impoverished local woman, but their connection blossoms into an illicit affair. She sees him as her ticket out of the town, but when things take a lethal turn, the resulting scandal rocks the FBI. This was the first time one of its own was convicted of murdering someone.

Looking to strike while the iron – and particularly his leading pair – is hot, Noyce will have the cameras rolling later this month.

Clarke is back on our TV screens in the latest season of Thrones, and is starring in romantic comedy drama Me Before You, out here on June 3. Huston has the new Ben-Hur due on August 26 and also worked on indie drama The Yellow Birds.
