Having taken a turn into thriller territory for A Simple Favour, director Paul Feig is headed for cosy romantic comedy waters for his next film, Last Christmas. And we now know who will be bringing the lurve: Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding.
The Game Of Thrones star and the Crazy Rich Asians actor some are pointing to as a potential new Bond will be the two stars for the film. As for what actually happens? All we know is that it's a festive romance set in London, its connection (if any) to Wham's Chrimbo perennial unknown at this point. Unless it's all a trick, and the title actually refers to some apocalyptic event where two people try to find love as the world ends at Christmas?
The script, however, comes from Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings, which gives us hope that the former might bring her trademark acting chops to the screen.
Feig's on to produce and Universal is backing the film, which has yet to announce a shooting schedule or release date. A Simple Favour, meanwhile, hits these shores at the weekend, and features Golding in the cast. Clarke, last seen in Solo: A Star Wars Story, has Thrones headed our way for its final season next year.
