Ellen Page and Kate Mara are friends in real life, and their friendship has [borne some adorable fruits on Twitter](https://twitter.com/katemara/status/581304921674289152
). But (aside from a very amusing Funny Or Die sketch, below) the two actresses have never worked together – until now.
Page and Mara have both signed up for Mercy, a new romantic drama to be directed by Israeli filmmaker Tali Shalom Ezer, from a script by Joe Barton. Page will play Lucy, the daughter of a man on death row. Mara will play the title character on the opposite side of the political cause.
Page has said in the past that she hopes to focus on “mostly on stories that are meaningful to me and stories for women and supporting more gay characters”.
She can next be seen in Netflix’s Tallulah, while Mara has sci-fi thriller Morgan coming up. Sadly, there are no plans for further editions of Tiny Detectives.
