Most young actresses would see an Oscar nomination as assurance that they will never again have to make a horror movie, generally the stamping ground of the tightly vested and otherwise unemployed. Ellen Page thinks different. But then the particular horror movie she's making is with Sam Raimi, so we're going to call that a good decision.
The Juno star will appear in Drag Me To Hell as a girl who's been afflicted with a supernatural curse. This is Raimi's first horror movie since Army of Darkness (unless you count The Gift), and his first non-Spider-Man project in eight years.
Raimi returning to horror is amazing news. The big disappointment that was Spider-Man 3 suggested that the franchise was sapping his creativity. A smaller project with less attention could be just what he needs to recharge his batteries. And with the always excellent Page on board we're...well, on board.
