Luc Besson's latest sci-fi epic, Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets begins arriving in European cinemas next month, so you'd think there wouldn't be much opportunity to add anything. But in today's modern movie-making world, directors are making tweaks up to the last minute, which explains how Elizabeth Debicki can be joining the cast now.

The actress, who was most recently seen in another space-set adventure thanks to her role as Ayesha in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, is contributing a voice to Valerian, but no details were released on what she might be playing. Our guess is one of the many CG creatures populating the universe.

The film, based on the French graphic novel series Valérian And Laureline, is an idiosyncratic space opera following the titular Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) as special operatives charged with looking after the human territories of the universe in the 28th century.

Their adventures take them to the intergalactic city of Alpha, a metropolis of seventeen million residents of multiple species, where they must protect the citizens from dark forces.

While the likes of the US will see the film around 21 July, UK audiences will have to wait until 2 August.
