Elisabeth Moss

We learned in January that Universal had decided to abandon the idea of its intertwined Dark Universe monster movie concept and instead put its faith in filmmakers with their own disparate takes on the creature features. Leigh Whannell was the first announced, working up a new version of The Invisible Man. And, if everything works out, Elisabeth Moss may star.

The Handmaid's Tale lead is considering the movie, which remains largely under wraps beyond the basic concept of someone experimenting with invisibility. Whether this news means it could be Moss who ends up becoming transparent isn't (no pun intended) clear yet, but it would certainly represent a fresh idea for the film.

Whannell most recently made Upgrade and, given his horror bona fides, we're certainly intrigued to see what he might have come up with for the Invisible idea. Moss, meanwhile, will be back on our screens in Us, due on 22 March. She's also part of the cast for crime drama The Kitchen, arriving on 2 September.
