Jennifer Egan’s books have become prime fodder for Hollywood types looking for film ideas without actually having to come up with them themselves. One of her previous novels, The Invisible Circus, became a Cameron Diaz film.
But her latest, The Keep, is more supernatural drama than female bonding, even though it is essentially a romance. A financing and production company called StillKing Films has picked it up, and they’ve hired The Ring's writer Ehren Kruger to co-produce and write the adaptation.
The plot finds a woman being wooed by a mysterious prisoner in a haunted castle. Just your typical first date stuff, then. There’s no director attached yet.
