Edward Burns has signed on to join the ever-increasing cast of Man On A Ledge, the film which will see ex-cop Sam Worthington balanced on in a precarious position as Elizabeth Banks tries to talk him down. Genesis Rodriguez has also signed on, shortly after landing the lead in Will Ferrell's Spanish language Casa de mi Padre.
Directed by Asger Leth, the film has Worthington as a fugitive cop, imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit and out on the lam after his father's funeral, who causes a media sensation when he steps out onto a high ledge. Banks is the hungover police negotiator trying to talk him down; Edward Burns will join her as a rival negotiator who doesn't rate her skills and thinks she's suffering a conflict of interest (bet he'll jump in just as she reaches a breakthrough). Jamie Bell plays Worthington's brother, whose plans to rob a store across the way have been scuppered by the whole affair, and Rodriguez will play his girlfriend.
Shooting starts this month in New York, so look out for this next year, we're guessing.
