Eddie Redmayne is looking to swap the empty chairs at empty tables of Les Miserables for a plateful of Lana and Andy Wachowski's grand ambition with a part in the pair's latest, Jupiter Ascending.

The English actor will join Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis in the sci-fi which is set to be the next cab off the Wachowski's rank once Cloud Atlas is officially done and dusted. The script is done and the siblings will produce and direct, with a February 2013 start date mooted.

With shades of a zero-gravity Snow White,** Jupiter Ascending** sees Kunis playing a low-wage Russian immigrant who finds herself a marked woman. In an interplanetary regime where your DNA is everything, hers just happens to be identical to the perfect genetic makeup of the Queen of the Universe.

A bounty hunter (Tatum) is dispatched to kill the young woman. Luckily, this is a hunky bounty hunter rather than the pitiless kind and, instead of killing her, Boba Pecs ends up falling hard for the young worker. We're not sure what happens next but don't be surprised if a Matrix-style insurrection is on the cards. This could be where Marius Redmayne comes in.

The breathtaking ambition of the Wachowskis' ideas, backed in this case by Warner Bros., is an exciting anomaly these days, so we'll be watching this like one intergalactic space hawks. Cloud Atlas is out on February 22.
