There's only a few days to go before the third instalment of the Twilight saga begins shooting and the final pieces are falling into place. Catalina Sandino Moreno has now been cast in the role of Maria, Jasper's maker and a baddie vampire in Eclipse.
The Colombian actress was nominated for an Oscar for Maria Full Of Grace, where she played the part of a school teacher turned drugs mule, and was most recently seen in Steven Soderbergh's Che. She'll take on the role of Jasper's maker, who turns him into the walking dead before enlisting his help in waging war upon rival vampire 'families', though all this takes place in flashbacks told from Jasper's point of view in the book.
Pretty much the only problem we expect Catalina to have fitting in with fans is her name: it just doesn't fit the R-Pattz, JacAbs, K-Stew, J-Hu mould. C-SaMo? CaSaMo? CSM? Millions of syllabley-challenged fans will be at a loss as to how to refer to her unless something can be done. The ostracism C-Mo(?) could face could be devastating.
