The trailer for teen comedy Easy A has arrived, and you can view it over at MySpace.
Looking like it wobbles on the line between your basic teen sex comedy and something a little smarter and – we hope –funnier, Easy A finds Emma Stone as Olive, a snarky but largely anonymous high school girl who changes everything by helping a gay friend fake sex so he can fit in. But when she agrees to do it for others, she starts becoming noticed in ways she’s not sure she wants.
Soon, the religious crowd at school is comparing her to Hester Prynne in The Scarlet Letter, which Olive decides to take to heart. Can she keep using the rumours to boost her social standing in school, and what impact will it have on her life?
This one will live and die on how Stone balances the comedy and the heart, but based on this trailer, we’re intrigued.
The movie arrives on October 22.
