Not content with the lead in MTV’s TV reboot of Teen Wolf, actor Dylan O’Brien is busy conquering the big screen too. 20th Century Fox already appears to have real faith in him: he’s set for young adult adaptation **The Maze Runner **and is now in talks for DreamWorks’ found footage pic **Glimmer.

The latter project aims to do for Twilight Zone-style sci-fi what Chronicle did for superheroes: apply the footage format to a new genre in the hope of finding something good.

Ads director Ringan Ledwidge – who boasts a name that wouldn’t be out of place strolling the halls of Hogwarts – is set to make the film from Carter Blanchard’s Black List script.

Glimmer finds a group of teenagers who take a camping trip with a vague plan to investigate why several people have gone missing. They discover a portal that sends them back in time to the 1970s and traps them there. Despite all the advice offered in books and movies, one of them makes a vital change to the past and the effects begin to roll from there.

With Jeremy Allen White already in negotiations to star, DreamWorks is so enthusiastic about its young cast that it will shove the shooting schedule back to January so as to secure their services.

Maze Runner** is shooting now, with O’Brien working alongside Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Kaya Scodelario, Will Poulter and Aml Ameen. He’ll also be part of the cast of Google-set comedy** The Internship**, which arrives here on July 4.
