Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will be seen a lot on our screens this year, what with the G.I. Joe sequel and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. But those films are already in the can: now he’s got his eye on future projects, and is now circling Dito Montiel’s indie heist movie Empire State.

Deadline reports that Liam Hemsworth, soon to be seen in The Hunger Games, is already locked for one of the lead roles in a story that is based on a real-life armoured car robbery that took place in New York back in 1982. The crime ended up as the biggest cash heist in American History.

There’s no word on exactly who Hemsworth’s playing, but Johnson is now negotiating for the role of Ransone – who could be one of the car’s guards, but sounds more like a villain.

Breach writer Adam Mazar is behind the script, which once went under the title The Sentry Keep. Montiel, who last directed Channing Tatum cop drama The Son Of No One, is getting set for State to shoot in April. Johnson, of course, also has filming on Fast Six and Seven to come in the near future as well.
