This year will see the release of the second collaboration between Dwayne Johnson and Central Intelligence director Rawson Marshall Thurber, as Skyscraper jumps on to screens. The pair has already cooked up another film to make together, with Thurber's pitch for an action comedy called Red Notice generating a frenzy of excitement from studios.

With Thurber writing and aiming to direct again, Red Notice is set in the world of Interpol crime fighters, with the title referring to the most serious of categories for villains that the agency is tracking down. Johnson would play an Interpol agent, but the other details of the story are being kept quiet for now.

Companies such as Legendary, New Line, Paramount, Sony and Universal are all bidding for the rights to make the movie, spurred to higher heights of cash-dropping by the success of Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, which has earned more than $859 million globally so far, representing the latest step in Johnson proving his box office pull. The star could make more than $20 million for this movie, which would be his biggest payday yet.

Skyscraper is set for release on 13 July.
