Having had to deal with the choppy waters of pandemic delays, Disney's big summer live-action adventure Jungle Cruise is finally ready to sail into cinemas (and on to Disney+) in a couple of months. To keep it in our brains, there's a new trailer online, featuring Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson trading barbs and blows...
Johnson plays cruise skipper Frank, who is caught in a financial bind. He sees an opportunity when Blunt's explorer Lily Houghton offers to pay him to take her on a dangerous expedition to find a fabled, life-giving tree. They’re initially butting heads, swapping insults and pulling off a slew of stunts, but then join together to face off against a mysterious snake-covered entity. Think The Mummy, circa the Brendan Fraser films, but with more Rock.
And also, there's Jesse Plemons, who has certainly made a... choice... when it comes to his accent for his villainous character, who has his own reasons for hunting for the tree.
Jaume Collet-Serra is in the director's chair, and the movie will dock in UK and US cinemas on 30 July. It'll also be available on Disney+ for a premier access fee the same day.
