Roll the dice and step right up, D&D-heads – a fresh cinematic campaign is about to unfold in Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves, and as the previous trailer hinted, it’s looking like it’s be a ton of fun. The new trailer continues that vibe, promising an action-comedy packed with creatures straight out of the role-playing game, with an appropriately game cast, and some visual flair to boot. Remember, if the thought of a D&D movie has you wanting to cast hellfire on all involved, this one comes from writer-directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, aka the duo behind Game Night, so there’s some serious pedigree here. Watch the fun-filled new trailer.

Looks like a psychic scream, right? (In a good way.) Honour Among Thieves assembles a fun party of players, with Chris Pine playing Edgin the Bard, Michelle Rodriguez kicking ass as Holga the Barbarian, and other participants including Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith (here revealed to be donning a British accent, for some reason), Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Actual Grant – the latter of whom seems to be continuing his run of having as much fun as possible in front of the camera. Good for him! And the trailer itself gives a little bit of plot (our heroes were accidentally complicit in handing a seriously scary MacGuffin to the wrong person, and now have to put it right), more Owlbear action, stone dragons, spells galore, and a trip into the, erm, orifice. Who’s going first?

Fingers crossed this one proves successful in bringing some sorcery to the cinema screen – after all the D&D homages of Stranger Things and Onward in recent years, it feels like the right time to conjure the real deal. Who’s got the d20? Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves comes to UK cinemas from 31 March.
