After months of rumour, Michael Clarke Duncan has finally been confirmed to play the scheming crime boss Kingpin in Mark Steven Johnson's Daredevil adaptation. Binging his formidable frame to bear against Ben Affleck's acrobatic vigilante, Duncan will play the film's arch-villain but, while Empire Online believes it to be an inspired choice, Daredevil purists may take issue with the decision. The Kingpin, aka Wilson Fisk, is a staple villain in Marvel Comics, causing regular grief for the likes of Daredevil and Spider-Man, however, the character is drawn as a bald, six foot seven, 450 pound white man - with an inexplicable taste for purple trousers, but that's beside the point. Duncan is certainly no hobbit and, while not bearing the Kingpin's traditional girth, certainly cuts an imposing figure. Regardless of the minor racial alteration, we firmly believe Duncan will prove a more than worthy avatar for the infamous Kingpin of Crime. Also confirmed was Jennifer Garner - star of Sky One espionage series Alias - who will be slipping on the red head-scarf to play Elektra, covert assassin and girlfriend to Daredevil.
