Duncan Jones is deep into pre-production and casting for the Warcraft movie, which he’ll start shooting early next year. It would seem there has been an early casualty of the Horde’s axes, because the game adaptation’s schedule means he won’t be able to work on the Ian Fleming biopic he’s been attached to for more than a year.
Though the Moon man was eager to work on what is still simply being called **Fleming, the producers are looking to have it filming roughly the same time that Warcraft will be in production, and given that film’s likely monstrous post-production period, Jones will be unavailable for longer than if he were shooting an effects-free indie drama.
So now the hunt is on to find someone who can take over Fleming, get it cast, set up and in front of cameras early in 2014. The script is based on Andrew Lycett’s biography of James Bond’s creator, exploring his own life, and lifestyle, as a spy, which influenced the genesis of the world’s most famous secret agent.
