If we're talking about supercool heist movies then Steven Soderbergh's remake of Ocean's 11 has to be at the top of the list. In fact, when Empire goes for a picnic in the Summer, we regularly take a couple of copies on DVD to keep the drinks chilled. It's good news then that the first trailer for the sequentially titled Ocean's 12 is now online for your viewing pleasure. So? Is it cooler than a polar bear's armpit? Well, yes and no. It has all the ingredients that made the first one so enjoyable: a glitzy setting (though now it's Europe instead of Vegas), a pair of classy crooks (cue Clooney and Pitt), some lovely ladies (Roberts returns and Catherine Zeta Jones hitches a ride this time around) and a big ol' heist (three, in fact). But something's missing. It's not Matt Damon, Andy Garcia or Bernie Mac, hell, even Don Cheadle's dodgy mockney accent is in full effect. The problem, we suspect, is that it's trying just that little bit too hard. Ocean's 11 was effortlessly cool. The follow-up though seems a little too concerned with reaching similarly sub-zero temperatures and, in this trailer at least, comes across as being a touch forced. That's not to say it's not going to be good. No sirree Bob, there's much to like here, including more entertaining banter between Clooney and Pitt, some impressive looking set-ups and the right balance of cheeky humour. Whether it can match the first film, though, is open for debate. You can find links to the trailer here
