The first teaser exploded across the Interwebs back around the time that the producers were showing off footage at Comic-Con this year. But now the full trailer for the Nic Cage-starring **Drive Angry 3D **has screeched online and is below for your viewing pleasure.
The movie follows Cage as a vengeful father, a man who got mixed up with a bad crowd and paid the ultimate price – he died and was sent straight to hell. But then his daughter was slaughtered and his infant granddaughter kidnapped. So, naturally, he does what any angry father/granddad would do in that situation: he finds a way out of the netherworld and strikes out on a mission to track down the men who have the baby and give them a stern talking to about bad behaviour. Oh, no, sorry... Kill them.
That’s the setup for what My Bloody Valentine director Patrick Lussier has promised is a wild and violent ride, with Cage picking off the baddies, Amber Heard as his initially reluctant sidekick kicking ass and looking good in shorts, and William Fichtner as Satan’s little helper, arriving on Earth to drag Cage back to hell. Oh, and quipping/killing people as he hunts him down.
It all looks very OTT and aware of itself, and since the movie was shot in 3D, it looks like Lussier and co just couldn’t resist throwing things at the screen occasionally. Still, if it lets Cage do another manic riff a la Bad Lieutenant, we’ll watch.
