Drew Pearce got a lot of studio attention thanks to his work co-writing Iron Man 3, and has since parlayed that into other jobs, including directorial debut Hotel Artemis. He's now hatched a deal to write and direct a thriller for Netflix called Quartermaster.
According to Variety, the plot details are being kept behind some barbed wire, but it has heard that the movie is a high-concept thriller. Given the title, we'd like to imagine it finds James Bond's Q getting his own high-stakes adventure, but given the nature of IP copyright, that's more than a little doubtful.
Pearce has Marc Platt (who also worked with him on Artemis) producing, but there's no sign yet on when the movie might hit Netflix. His next writing job to hit screens will be the work he did on Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, which screeches in to UK cinemas on 1 August
