DreamWorks Plans Christmas Comedy

From the writers of The Hangover

DreamWorks Plans Christmas Comedy

With all due respect to writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, who hit the big time when they co-wrote The Hangover, the pair really needs to stop it with the party-gone-awry format. Because now it feels like they’re just mashing old projects together to create “new” films, pitching DreamWorks on an untitled comedy that will see an office Christmas party going horribly awry.

Why do we say it’s a hybrid? Because The Hangover isn’t the only thing on their CV – they also wrote Four Christmases. And festive chaos twinned with debauched behaviour just sounds like they’ve got a giant board filled with words in their office and are grabbing two off the list randomly to see what fits.

Still, they certainly know how to craft a script full of madness, and they’ve also teamed up with a pair of directors who know a thing or two about bringing the funny while finding the heart in Blades of Glory team Will Speck and Josh Gordon.

Hopefully it’ll turn out to be more of a success than Christmases, which didn’t turn out that well (though it did scrape a profit), even with King of Kong’s Seth Gordon handling megaphone chores.
