A new comedy pitch sold

DreamWorks has hired a new intern. The company has plunked down money for Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupinsky’s comedy pitch The Intern.

The plot finds a middle-aged father who craves a return to the workplace, but finds himself having to start at the bottom of the food chain as a coffee-getting, photocopy-making, slave-labour office junior.

Workday comedy should come easily to the writers – their current day job is as staff writers on the US version of The Office. There’s no director or cast attached yet.
