It’s an old complaint that trailers seem to give away all the juicy bits of both thrillers and comedies these days, in an attempt to draw people in. But rarely do you see a promo that drops huge hints about what might be one of the bigger twists of the plot. That, however, seems to be the case with the first trailer for Dream House, which is now online over at Apple.
We can only assume that there’s a lot more to the story because if this turns out to be the majority of the plot condensed into two plus minutes, we have the feeling that there are going to be an awful lot of very annoyed cinemagoers.
Naturally, we won’t go into exactly what that might be, but be forewarned if you go and check out the link.
Directed by Jim Sheridan, Dream House finds Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz as Will and Libby Atenton, who move into what they think is the perfect home for theme and their two girls. But while the place appears to be an ideal fixer-upper, the family soon learns of the dark secret lurking in the property’s history, one that was unsurprisingly kept off the estate agent’s report: it was the site of a brutal multiple murder. Naturally, they begin to dig into the story behind the crime, but what they discover is… Well, that would be telling.
Dream House doesn’t appear to have a confirmed UK release date yet, but arrives in the States on September 30.
