A new supernatural thriller

Universal is back in the horror business. And it has hired Belgian director Erik Van Looy (who helmed 2003’s Oscar-nominated The Memory Of A Killer) to handle directing chores on their new supernatural thriller Dream House.

Having thrown the script, written by David Loucka, into development after buying it last year, they studio has handed it over to the producing partnership of Daniel Bobker and screenwriter Ehren Kruger, who last worked together on The Skeleton Key.

There’s no word on whether Kruger’s word-processing skills will be let loose on the screenplay, but stay tuned. The plot sees a man move into what seems to be the ideal country home, before realising it has a dark and spooky history.
