Now we know that Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss' Dracula will be looking to attack necks on the BBC this coming New Year's Day, there's a full trailer for the show, which adds a layer of gore to the images that have already been released.
Following on from their success with Sherlock, Moffat and Gatiss have put their spin on another literary icon, Bram Stoker's legendary bloodsucker. Unlike Sherlock's contemporary setting, Dracula's story will kick off more traditionally in Transylvania in 1897, where the blood-craving count (played here by Claes Bang) is plotting against the denizens of Victorian London. And it won't be long before he heads there... "There have always been stories about great evil," the producing pair says of their latest creation. "What’s special about Dracula is that Bram Stoker gave evil its own hero."
Cue creepy shots of flies on eyeballs, nails being removed, vigilante nuns and plenty of screaming. Three feature-length episode (much as with Holmes and the gang) will be shown as the first series. And those outside the UK won't miss out on the horror fun, as Netflix has the show worldwide, and due to premiere on 4 January. There's a shorter teaser for the show courtesy of the streaming service.
