The past year has seen a plethora of rumours buzzing around the internet that the venerable Timelord Dr Who was heading for the big screen - rumours that were dismissed by the BBC every time as complete balderdash. This weekend, the BBC finally revealed what all the fuss was about and admitted that they were planning a one-off special. Dr Who will be seen again, but on a PC rather than in a cinema. BBC.co.uk has persuaded Sylvester McCoy to reprise his role as the doctor in a show that will be broadcast exclusively on the internet. The story has the Doctor enlisting the help of a mysterious Time Lord to battle an alien warlord who is fighting for control of time itself. Other names signed up to the production include Stephen Fry and John Sessions. Death Comes to Time will be broadcast on the internet on 13 July 2001 as a series of six real audio files.
