Much of what the Downton Abbey film will be about remains hidden behind creaking, giant period-specific doors. Beyond the fact that it'll see the continuing drama of the Crawley family and their associated staff, we don't know much. But there are at least new character posters for some of the people we can expect to see.
Among them are...
Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery)
Lady Edith (Laura Carmichael)
Andy Parker (Michael Fox)
Thomas Barrow (Robert James-Collier)
With luck, a trailer will drop soon (possibly this week, given the arrival of the new posters) and our long national nightmare of not knowing what the plot of the Downton Abbey movie is will be at an end. Perhaps we'll finally learn that it finds Maggie Smith's Dowager Countess assembling all her jewels in a sort of gauntlet and snapping away half the people she doesn't like. Which is a lot. Either that, or it'll find the family heading off on another holiday, the staple of British-TV-turned-movies.
The film itself, whatever that plot might be, steers its carriage into UK cinemas on 13 September.
