A movie about the life of James Dean has been on the backburner for a while now, but it looks like it's finally going to get made. Luke Perry and Leonardo DiCaprio were suggested for the lead, but now Backbeat star Stephen Dorff is at the top of the list to play the tragic actor, who died in a car crash in 1955 at the age of twenty-four. The Warner Bros. production of The James Dean Story will be directed by Marc Rocco, who called the shots on Murder in the First.
