Former DreamWorks Animation boss Jeffrey Katzenberg is making a huge effort to secure known names to contribute to his new venture, mobile platform streaming service Quibi (or "Quick Bites"), which will show content in 7-10 minute, chapter-like chunks. He's already got the likes of Steven Spielberg cooking up a horror series and Steven Soderbergh interested in making something and the latest announcement sees Don Cheadle and Emily Mortimer joining sci-fi thriller Don't Look Deeper.

Madeline's Madeline breakout Helena Howard is also on to star and Twilight's Catherine Hardwicke is directing the series, with NCIS: New Orleans writer/producer Jeffrey Lieber running the show.

Don't Look Deeper will be set in Merced, California a short time in the future. It focuses on a high school senior (Howard) who can’t seem to shake the feeling that something about her just isn’t right. She’s not human, not one of us. This revelation sets in motion a series of events that suddenly puts her entire life in jeopardy.

In related news, The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Paul Feig is also making a deal to produce projects for Katzenberg and Meg Whitman's service, which is looking to go live next April. "It's exciting that short-form is getting another crack," he says. "It was kind of dead for a long time, because there was no market for it. Now, because there's so much stuff out there, this short-form content you watch on your phone that you watch for 10 minutes, that's really important now."
