With some solid performances – including weaving something great out of relatively less screen time in Judas And The Black Messiah – Dominque Fishback has now landed firmly on the radar of big-budget franchise filmmaking. She's in final negotiations to join Anthony Ramos in the seventh Transformers outing.
With Steven Caple Jr. in the director's chair and Darnell Metayer and Josh Peters on script duty (Joby Harold wrote an earlier draft), the new film is still largely under wraps, though Ramos is reportedly playing "a flawed and vulnerable hero who has made mistakes in his life and is eager to redeem himself with the help of Optimus Prime." And we can, of course, expect lots of giant robot action.
Fishback won the role after Paramount auditioned a number of actors, screen-testing with Ramos, who worked with her years ago on a college play and has remained a friend, which no doubt contributed to an easy screen chemistry.
