British film company Winchester Films is one of two companies in a race to produce the first movie based on last week's foiled robbery at London's Millennium Dome. The BBC are also believed to be putting together a drama based on the gems heist that seemed more suited to a Bond movie than real life. According to Screendaily.com, producer Mark Thomas, who was responsible for UK films Up 'N' Under and Rancid Aluminium, has copyrighted a treatment written on the day of the robbery and is looking for a writer to finish what he started. Thomas's version features a gang of international hold-up specialists who are brought together for the job. His version - unlike the BBC's which tells the story from the police team's point of view - has the robbers succeeding.
