The set of 102 Dalmatians is far from chaotic, according to the film's UK spokesperson, Vanessa Davies, who called Empire Online to straighten out this morning's story concerning potential location demonstrations from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Davies assured us that everything is going swimmingly on location in London, where principal photography began in November and is due to finish in April. She also explained that the filmmakers have had no direct complaints from animal welfare groups, saying, "To our knowledge we have had no complaints from animal welfare groups - and as a matter of fact, we work very closely with the RSPCA to ensure the best care for the dogs in the film." Davies also gave us an idea of the plot, which again features Glenn Close as arch-villainess Cruela De Vil, plus Gerard Depardieu and hot Brit property Ioan Gruffud. De Vil, fresh out of prison after her demise in 101 Dalmatians, is a changed woman, promptly buying an animal shelter and rescuing animals. But soon little spotty puppies begin disappearing all over again.... UPDATE 18.00 PETA spokesman Andrew Butler has confirmed that the organisation is planning demonstrations against 102 Dalmatians. Speaking to Empire Online he said, "We are planning to demonstrate, possibly this week. As an organisation we are against the use of animals in films or television. In circumstances where we have gone on-set on certain productions, we have found that animals were being mis-treated."
