Judging by the new teaser for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, Oscar Isaac’s Steven Grant (aka. the immensely lovable protagonist of Moon Knight) isn’t the only Marvel character having trouble with his dreams recently. Glimpses of new footage in the minute-long trailer for Sam Raimi’s surreal next instalment in the MCU tell us that Strange himself (Benedict Cumberbatch) is experiencing the same dream over and over again – as is Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen), though hers is more like a nightmare. Have a watch of the new teaser below.

We don’t know what it is for sure that Strange is dreaming about, but Wanda’s nighttime visions look a whole lot like a sequence from WandaVision, with shots of her and Vision’s house in Westview, and Wanda reaching out towards their kids Billy and Tommy – who we last saw disappear when Wanda removed the hex she had cast over the New Jersey town in her Disney+ series.

There’s a plethora of other new stuff to pick out, too: a close up of Strange’s handcuffs from the scene where he encounters a mysterious character that it's been confirmed is voiced by Patrick Stewart; Wong (Benedict Wong) and Wanda apparently teaming up in battle; and some trippy shots of Strange, one with a third eye opening on his forehead, and one where he goes full zombie. As you’d expect from an MCU trailer just a month out from release, it raises more questions than it answers. Just how many Wanda and Strange variants are there in this movie? Who is that glowing figure soaring through the air with a blue light on their chest? What role will Bruce Campbell, frequent Raimi cameo star, take on this time? We’ll find out on 6 May.
