With the arrival of a new occupant in the TARDIS usually comes a changing of the guard in terms of the people they regularly spend time with. In the case of Jodie Whitaker's Doctor, those new faces will include Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill.
The three new regulars will also be joined by Holby City veteran Sharon D Clarke in a returning role, when the series returns to our screens next autumn for 10 new episodes. Walsh is playing a character named Graham, while Cole will be Ryan and Gill has the part of Yasmin.
"I remember watching William Hartnell as the first Doctor. Black and white made it very scary for a youngster like myself," says Walsh. "I was petrified, but even though I'd watch most of it from behind the sofa through my fingers, I became a fan... Am I thrilled to be part of this whole ground breaking new dawn for the Doctor? Oh yes!"
Chris Chibnall takes over from outgoing producer Steven Moffat after he and Peter Capaldi leave the show with this year's Christmas episode.
