After the phenomenal success of Wedding Crashers this summer, director David Dobkin has been catapulted up the A-list at some speed – and now he's capitalising on that by signing on to direct a new, as yet untitled, comedy for a whopping $7 million fee and 7% of the gross.
The story is based on an idea that Dobkin came up with, but will be written by Tim Rasmussen and Vince DiMeglio – best known so far for their work rewriting Meet The Fockers.
This story centres on a hard-nosed Southern farmer, whose three daughters bring their new boyfriends home for the holidays, and he learns that one boyfriend is black, one Arabic and one Jewish. Hilarity, and an important message about getting along, no doubt ensues.
