Divorce Due For Drew

It doesn't look as though 2002 will be a Happy New Year for actress Drew Barrymore. Just six months after Barrymore wedded comedian Tom Green comes news that the relationship is heading for the divorce courts. It seems that that catch-all problem of 'irreconcilable differences' is responsible for the break-up of the pair's marriage. The comedian filed a Superior Court divorce petition in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. '"Drew is a wonderful woman. I love her very much. I wish our marriage could have worked out. I wish her much happiness," he said in a statement given to the press by his publicist. All in all, this will be a bitter-sweet year for Drew. Although her personal life seems to be going down the tubes, her professional life is stronger than ever. Critics stateside have been lauding her performance in Riding in Cars With Boys, claiming it brings her firmly into serious actress territory.
