It's an old story in Hollywood - when a new box arrives at a studio, lots of the existing projects get kicked to the curb. So it is with Rich Ross and the family comedy Wedding Banned, which had been due to shoot next year.

Planned as a vehicle for Robin Williams, Diane Keaton and Anna Faris, the movie was to have seen divorced parents (Williams and Keaton) kidnapping their daughter on her wedding day to stop her making the same mistakes.

But even as they flee, evading cops and a very angry groom, the couple rekindle their romance. But of course they do.

Sadly for Williams, the fact that his most recent Disney comedy - Old Dogs - failed to bark at the box office was a major reason that the new boss shoved the new movie into turnaround. And it's not the first time for Ross - he's already pulled the brake cable on McG's new version of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

All, unfortunately, is not lost for the awful-sounding high concept, though: production company Mandeville Films can always try to shop it around town...
