Tom Holland (no, not Tom Holland or Tom Hollander), is the man who made the horror-tactic likes of the original Fright Night and Child's Play. He's sticking with his favourite genre for a new scary story, preparing to direct Rock Paper Dead.
And he's working with a veritable boos-who of horror talent behind the camera for this one, including co-writer Victor Miller (with Friday The 13th on his resume), another Jason Voorhees veteran in composter Harry Manfredini and experienced award-winner Vincent Guastini for special make-up effects.
Rock Paper Dead focuses on Peter Harris, a serial killer known as The Doll Maker, who returns to his ancestral family home after his release from a state hospital for the criminally insane. After 20 years of treatment, he believes he's "cured", but he has a hard time dealing with the ghosts of childhood trauma and the guilt that has steadily built from his past crimes. And when a lovely young woman named Ashley arrives at the house, it rekindles a murderous desire in Harris.
Holland and co. plan to have Guastini whip up some dolls and death masks that will then be marketed around the release of the movie, currently planned for Halloween next year. Expect those to fly off the shelves, then...
