You may not have heard of the wonderfully monikered Wayne McClammy, but if you're remotely web-savvy and like hilarity, you've probably seen his work - making the news that he's set to direct Isla Fisher vehicle Desperados rather good news all around.
McClammy's the director behind the brilliant I'm Fucking Matt Damon video from Sarah Silverman / Jimmy Kimmel / Matt Damon, and the I'm Fucking Ben Affleck riposte. On that evidence, we're happy to hear that he'll be directing the story of a woman who sends an outraged email to a guy who doesn't call her back after sex - only to learn that he's in a coma in New Mexico. Cue a cross-country chase to erase the email before he wakes up.
Written by Ellen Rapoport, it's described as a "female-oriented version of The Hangover", the difference being that you're more likely to lose a friend on a night out than travel across country on the most spurious of reasons, when a simple follow-up email going, "Wow, sorry, that was a bit deranged of me" would probably do as well. Or, I dunno, not writing a psycho email in the first place. Anyone would think Hollywood were just assuming that "hell, bitches be crazy" when commissioning these rom-coms.
Assuming that everything continues to come together, this should be in production by the end of the year.
