Oh for the day that, instead of ladies pushing the good word of the Lord through your letterbox, an Avon representative would ring the doorbell, and you'd open the door to find Hugh Jackman standing there. Well that day is nearly here, as Jackman throws off his adamantium claws in favour of nail polish, lipstick and blush for comedy Avon Man.
Pitched by **Hitch **writer Kevin Bisch, it will follow a car salesman (Jackman) who loses his job and turns reluctantly to the sales of cosmetics to make ends meet. The recessionary tale will, according to reports, be a little Full Monty in tone as he enlists his other out-of-work mates to join the powder-puff gang to win a regional contest.
Jackman is currently limbering up for a stint on the Broadway boards, playing a cop alongside Daniel Craig in A Heavy Rain from September. So given that this script isn't even written yet, production for the film won't happen until well into 2010.
