What would you do if you discovered your best mate’s wife was seemingly cheating on him? Would you wrestle with internal debate about whether to tell him? Would you seek out the advice of a variety of unreliable other acquaintances on what you should do? Or would you just keep schtum? That’s the titular dilemma that Vince Vaughn finds himself in Ron Howard’s latest, which has just decided to push its trailer out over at Apple.
**The Dilemma **sees Ronny (Vaughn) largely enjoying life. He’s got a solid job, a sexy girlfriend (Jennifer Connelly) and a great best mate in the form of Kevin James’ Nick. But then he unwittingly sees Nick’s wife Geneva (Winona Ryder) with another man (Channing Tatum) and Ronny’s world starts to implode. Should he reveal the truth to Nick? Should he keep quiet until they’ve given the most important presentation of their lives?
Yes, we’re clearly in Vince Vaughn bromance territory here, with Vaughn giving the usual smarm offensive with a side order of heart we’ve come to expect from his most recent movies. But with Howard at the helm, we’re expecting a little from this than, say, Couples Retreat, and we’re especially interested to see what James does in a leading role away from the Adam Sandler influence.
