After months of negotiations, it transpires that Vin Diesel has priced himself out of appearing in the sequel to The Fast and The Furious. Diesel's decision also means that the fim's original director Rob Cohen is out of the deal - having said that he would only direct if Diesel was on board. The decision is bound to be a disappointment for studio heads at Universal, for whom the low-budget racer flick was a profit-making success story - costing just $38 million to make and raking in a massive $145 million in the States alone. Although a spokesperson for Diesel denied rumours that that deal had fallen through because of costs, it doesn't take a genius to work that the $20 million Diesel was asking for to reprise his role, would have dealt a hefty blow to the film's finances. The sequel will now focus on Paul Walker's character, while Diesel will begin work on his sequel to Pitch Black - The Chronicles of Riddick.
