An English Classic? Actually being filmed in England? Yes, amazing as it may seem, with our literary greats regularly being transplanted across the Atlantic, the latest adaptation from the great British library will not be making it's way to Hollywood. Charles Dickens can rest a little easier tonight knowing that the recently greenlighted production of his novel, Nicholas Nickleby, will be shot in our own green and pleasant land. Emma director Douglas McGrath will run the show, directing a suitably high-profile cast for the project. Joining Queer As Folk's Charlie Hunnam in the title role are Jamie Bell, Nathan Lane and Christopher Plummer, with Jim Broadbent and Miranda Richardson still in negotiations. Dickens' novel follows the exploits of young Nicholas who is left destitute after his father dies. Forced to find work by his uncle (Plummer), Nicholas and his friend Smike (Bell) soon flee to join Nathan Lane's troupe of actors. Nicholas Nickleby will begin shooting in London this April.
