Fox 2000 has picked up the movie rights to Jeff Kinney’s illustrated novel, Diary Of A Wimpy Kid, and has put the project out to prospective writers and directors.
Diary started life on the internet as a comic, and then was turned into a book last year. It follows the adventures of Greg Heffley, a wise-cracking student, over the course of an academic year.
Nina Jacobson will produce for Fox 2000 and, with a sequel already in bookstores – Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules – she and Fox must have their eyes on a possible geek-centric franchise.
What do you think, readers? Fans of Kinney's work? Think this will translate?
