For most of her big screen career to date, Rita Ora has spent her time playing Christian Grey's sister in the Fifty Shades franchise. So we can understand her wanting to try something that will be greeted with a little more acceptance. She's now landed a role in... Detective Pikachu? Oh, come on!
This is one that is still confounding us a little, though it has so far managed to sweep in an eclectic, interesting cast led by Ryan Reynolds as the title character via performance capture. The film will find his Pikachu on the hunt for the missing father of a young man (Justice Smith). Bill Nighy, Chris Geere, Kathryn Newton and Ken Watanabe are also aboard the film.
As for Ora, her character, like most of the others, is a mystery for now. Will she be a help or a hindrance to our little yellow hero? Rob Letterman is on directing duty, having written the script with Nicole Perlman and the movie is due next year.
