Like Ghostface stalking a victim, the shoot for the next Scream movie, which follows this year's successful soft reboot/legacy sequel, is creeping ever closer. And we're learning more about who will be on screen this time, with Dermot Mulroney the latest addition.

With returning directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (along with writers Guy Busick and James Vanderbilt) having cooked up some fresh mayhem for the various survivors to endure, all we really know about the story so far is that those left standing "leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter." Fresh, bloody chapter no doubt, because you can't exactly have a Scream movie where everyone happily just gets on with their lives.

Those returning from the fifth film include Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Jenna Ortega, while Courteney Cox seems set to keep her run going by showing up as veteran journalist Gale Weathers. Also back this time – though for her first Ghostface encounter since Scream 4 - is Hayden Panettiere as Kirby Reed.

Mulroney's character at this point is mostly a mystery, though The Hollywood Reporter says he'll play a cop. Because that's a job with a high survival rate in this particular cinematic universe!

Right now, Scream 6 (or whatever they end up calling it) is scheduled to hit cinemas on 31 March next year.
