It's hardly a surprise given how heavily involved he has been with the films so far, but then Hollywood has a nasty habit of switching out writers like expired air fresheners. So it's still welcome to report that regular John Wick scribe Derek Kolstad will be back for the third film in the Keanu Reeves-starring action series.
Kolstad is already developing the script with Chad Stahelski, who co-directed the original and then was alone in the job for this year's Chapter Two. Quite what will happen in the third outing remains to be seen, though Stahelski told the Empire Podcast's Spoiler Special on the second film that he was looking to explore the wider assassin world.
Wick, which Kolstad originally created as a spec script called Scorn, has turned the world of killers and other colourful criminals into quite the cottage industry: he wrote the tie-in VR video game, is a consultant on the comic book series that is headed out way this year, and is also helping to develop the spin-off TV show.
